Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Overview
As a senior hardware design engineer, individual will be responsible for the design and development of reference and validation hardware incorporating the latest PowerPC technology and state of the art communication components from AppliedMicro. Individual will also be responsible for solving a broad range of hardware problems while developing and releasing products internally to AppliedMicro, as well as to outside customers. Tasks include digital or analog circuit design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and documenting.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for the design and development of digital circuits for hardware products
- Coordinate project deliverables with Marketing, Software, and ASIC team leads
- Evaluate and select digital/analog hardware components based on performance, cost, and feature tradeoffs
- Perform schematic capture and work with CAD engineers to accomplish component placement and printed circuit board layout
- Coordinate directly with contract manufacturers to develop printed circuit board fabrication and assembly
- Define and develop hardware test plan to ensure that the hardware meets performance and functional requirements
Education/Experience Requirement:
- 4+ years of digital hardware design experience
- Experience with complete product development cycle is preferred
- Broad experience in microprocessor and communication system development
- Experience with high-speed I/O designs: PCIe, PCI-X, DDR2, Gigabit Ethernet is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with OrCAD schematic capture and Allegro PCB Design tools are preferred
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and Vietnamese
- BS/MS/Ph.D in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related discipline is required
