Key areas of responsibility
• Responsible for performing full Automatic Place and Route (APR) design flow using EDA tools (Magma, Synopsys,…) and take blocks or chip level to tape-out.
• Responsible for Floorplanning, Power planning, timing closure and Design Rule Check (DRC) and Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), SI analysis and avoidance.
• Run signoff tape-out tools for timing and DRC/LVS.
• Develop and maintain APR scripts and company Back-End design flow.
• Answer technical layout questions related to physical design and the projects.
• Contribute to the continuous development of company cutting edge ASIC methodology and also R&D projects.
• Lead/mentor trainees and also junior engineers.
Scope and Impact of Job
• Design Responsibilities: ASIC Back-End Design Engineer is responsible work directly under a Design Manager for a specific project, following directions and instructions as to how to support / design related Back-End Design topics for satisfying customers’ requirements on time and efficiently.
• Training and Study Responsibilities: ASIC Back-End Engineer will be abroad on-site trained if required by experts in eSilicon on latest technology and design flow. Beside, it is required to undertake training and self-study in order to develop knowledge required to serve the ever changing technological landscape.

• Min Bachelor/Engineer or above with major in Electronics, Telecommunications, Physical - Electronics, Computer Science, Hardware Engineering with a minimum GPA of 7.0
• Preferred more than 4 years experience in ASIC Back-End Design Engineering.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of deep submicron ASIC physical design flow from RTL to GDSII as well as a understanding of the general silicon engineering process, from concept to tape-out to production.
• Understanding of deep submicron design problems and solutions (leakage power, signal integrity, DFM ect.)
• Hands on experience with detailed exposure to an actual SoC physical design in STA, Floor-Planning, Power Analysis, CTS, Routing, DRC/LVS and Noise Analysis using Magma or Synopsys ASIC physical design tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills along with attention to details.
• Scripting language with Perl, Tk/Tcl, AWK, Shell scripting a very big asset.
• Good listening, writing and speaking English.
• Strong communication, Timing Management and Presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility and dedicated, hard working, have the ability to work well within a team.
• Must be of unquestionable integrity, possess a drive to succeed and accomplish team challenges in a dynamic, hard working, fast-growing technology business environment.
